Data Deletion Instructions

This page explains how to stop Marketing OS from accessing your Meta (Facebook and Instagram) account and how to have the data Marketing OS has already stored deleted.

Marketing OS only ever reads data. Deleting your data here removes what Marketing OS has stored; it does not delete anything from Facebook or Instagram themselves, and it does not affect your posts, your Page or your account on those platforms.

If you have an account in the application: open Integrations for the client workspace, find Meta Ads and press Disconnect.

This takes effect immediately and does the following:

• Your Meta access token is erased from our database.
• The stored identifier and name of the connected ad account are erased.
• The integration returns to the “not connected” state, so no further request is ever made to Meta for this workspace — including the nightly sync.

Disconnecting stops all future access, but it does not by itself erase the aggregate statistics already collected. To have those removed as well, continue with Step 2.

Marketing OS has no self-service button that erases previously collected analytics, so deletion is handled as a request. Send an email to [privacy@your-domain — TO BE COMPLETED] with the subject “Data deletion request” and include:

• The name of the business or client workspace the data belongs to.
• The name of the Facebook Page and/or Instagram account concerned.
• Whether you want the Meta data only, or everything Marketing OS holds for that workspace.
• An email address we can reply to.

We confirm receipt within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days. We will write to you when it is done.

• The encrypted Meta access token and the connection record.
• Daily Facebook Page and Instagram statistics stored for the account: reach, impressions, engagement, profile views and follower counts.
• Stored records of individual posts and Reels: identifier, type, publication date, permalink, thumbnail URL, caption and their aggregate performance figures.
• Advertising performance records — campaigns, ad sets, ads, spend and results — retrieved from the connected ad account.
• If you ask for the whole workspace to be removed, everything above plus every other report and integration belonging to it. This is a permanent deletion, not an archive, and it cannot be undone.

We cannot delete anything held by Meta. Your Page, your Instagram account, your posts and the insights Meta keeps about them remain with Meta and are governed by Meta’s own policies.

You can also revoke access from Meta directly, which is independent of anything we do: in Facebook go to Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations, select Marketing OS and choose Remove. This invalidates the token immediately. Note that it stops future access only — to have already-stored data erased, still send the request in Step 2.
